Amoeba OS

Amoeba  OS( Organizational Structure)
Many Startups, small and midsize companies who have founder as its driving force are battling a problem called organizational Structure (OS) and system within the company. One can never be sure that what is more important? OS and system or founders way of doing things. Both have their own limitations.
Whenever I am confused about anything about life or business I make it a point to find answer through life itself, the very nature we are the part of has solutions for everything, that is because nature has gone through  billions of years of evolutionary process finding most effective and effortless way of reaching the evolutionary pinnacle.
When I first came to know about amoeba I was fascinated by its ingestion technique i.e the way it grabs the food. Whenever any food particle comes anywhere near amoeba that part of its body becomes its mouth & it engulfs it. By the way Amoeba was the first unicellular organism that performed all life processes needed for an organism to called an organism, it was not a cell or a tissue it was an entire organism.
Just like startups isn’t it? Amoeba is the ultimate ancestor of the entire living organism that exists now.
So what is Amoeba OS?
Like amoeba our company must be capable of performing all the life processes required for sustained growth and expansion of our business. By life processes I mean aspects like Branding, Innovation, production, Marketing, Accounting, operations, delivery, Services and so on. But being a startup or a small business we have limited resources and mostly multiple processes performed by same person or department. So if we go for OS and system approach, we may not afford the stiffness of the system where as we go by will and wishes of founder we may not be effective. In case of Amoeba OS we must priorities and decide what life process is essential today or in this week and rearrange our organization in such a way that it has OS & System and founders charisma at same time for that particular process or need. Just call it ‘season’. This week may be a branding season for our Amoeba OS so guys needed for it come together make OS and founder or authorized person takes charge and satisfies the need of the season. So if we have SOP’s (Set operational Procedures) For all predictable needs and contingencies we can finalize an organizational Structure and system for each SOP and also Role of Founder for each SOP so that our company acts like an Amoeba to conquer the season.
Generally, Amoeba OS is most essential when we are in consolidation stage or hyper growth stage where we will always be short of resources and Human resource in particular. Being able to keep our self so agile and adaptive will help survive ever changing environment and matrix of business essentials. Each one of us has to make our own Amoeba OS and stick to it until you can afford few losses due to stiff regular Organizational Structure and system (Like the MNCs).

Till than be an Amoeba OS- Our ultimate ancestor.

What is Customer Obsession ?

Customer Obsession is a business philosophy and strategy where the company places the needs, desires, and satisfaction of customers at the absolute core of its decision-making processes. Key Elements of Customer Obsession: Deep Customer Understanding : Customer-obsessed companies prioritize gaining a deep understanding of their customers’ preferences, pain points, and behaviors. This insight often comes from continuous data collection, feedback loops, and engagement with customers to ensure products and services evolve with customer needs. Customer-Centric Decision Making : In a customer-obsessed organization, all decisions—whether related to product development, marketing, or operations—are driven by ho

Zappos and the Unexpected Pizza Delivery! - customer obsession at its best.

Zappos and the Unexpected Pizza Delivery Zappos, the online shoe retailer, is well known for its customer-obsessed culture, but one story stands out as the perfect example of going above and beyond. A woman visiting Las Vegas with friends stayed at a hotel but was unable to order a late-night pizza after the hotel's room service had closed. As a joke, one of her friends suggested she call Zappos, knowing how famous they were for their customer service, even though Zappos obviously didn't sell pizza. She called Zappos, explained her situation, and instead of brushing her off or apologizing, the Zappos customer service agent took the time to find nearby pizza places that were open late, then placed an order on her behalf. This story spread far and wide, exemplifying how Zappos didn’t just aim to fulfill shoe orders; their customer service team was genuinely focused on solving whatever problem the customer had, regardless of what it was. It showed that Zappos' customer obses
