Sales, is the Boss. The Boss, is who Sells.

Sales, is the Boss. The Boss, is who Sells.
Many startups especially the technology startups have multiple founders, mostly they are experts in technology or product creation. As we watch the rise and fall of the startups, one thing that eventually is going matter is the sales of your product or service. To be more precise, Money in the account for the exchange of your goods or services. This is inevitable and fundamental fact of any business even for Apple or Google after so many years of pioneering products and services and huge brand equity. Sales the ultimate fact that matters. Elon musk, is Elon musk, only because he has managed every single time to create strong booking and advance paid by customers in large numbers.
So for a startup to be successful this single most factor overrules all other parameters of success that you want. Sales, is the Boss.
Very famous sentence in sales and marketing is,” Marketing and sales too important to be sole responsibility of the marketing department.”
Show me a successful business or enterprise I will show you its CEO or founder to be an excellent marketing man, right since the very early days of their business.
The marketing or sales skill doesn’t necessarily means you have to be able to go door to door and be a caricatured marketing guy you hate to see. Marketing has evolved to a much matured level since last 10 to 15 years; Guys like Seth Godin have revolutionary way of looking at the marketing and sales of brands and products.
Digital and social media marketing is yet another revolution that has made a disruptive change in sales and marketing.
So being a founder of a startup one should dedicate almost 70% time if not all, in making oneself lead Sales person of your company. If you can’t sale your product or service, nobody can. And if you can, then anyone can. This is as simple as, if you want light you need fire. If you want success you need sales.
One more thing, even if you are an introvert or not so charismatic or flamboyant, that doesn’t mean you can’t sell. Sales and marketing is a systematic way to reach you customer at right time and right price. So any one can acquire the requisite skills needed to be the lead salesman of his or her brand and company.
Virgin –Richard Branson
Apple-Steve jobs
Tesla –Elon Musk
They are sometimes clumsy on stage, but they are on stage and people buy them first and then their products and services.
If you want to be the best startup, you need to be the best Salesmen.
If you feel it’s below you intellect or something, think again.
Sales is the boss, The Boss is who sells.

Zappos and the Unexpected Pizza Delivery! - customer obsession at its best.

Zappos and the Unexpected Pizza Delivery Zappos, the online shoe retailer, is well known for its customer-obsessed culture, but one story stands out as the perfect example of going above and beyond. A woman visiting Las Vegas with friends stayed at a hotel but was unable to order a late-night pizza after the hotel's room service had closed. As a joke, one of her friends suggested she call Zappos, knowing how famous they were for their customer service, even though Zappos obviously didn't sell pizza. She called Zappos, explained her situation, and instead of brushing her off or apologizing, the Zappos customer service agent took the time to find nearby pizza places that were open late, then placed an order on her behalf. This story spread far and wide, exemplifying how Zappos didn’t just aim to fulfill shoe orders; their customer service team was genuinely focused on solving whatever problem the customer had, regardless of what it was. It showed that Zappos' customer obses
